In our continuing endevour to catalogue and update our history, Journey’s End – our last production at our old home, Beresford Street – has now been added to our ever-growing archive, and can be found here.
Journey’s End was the first play about the First World War to become a popular success. Though not specifically an anti-war play, it explores in a realistic and emotionally moving way the reactions and relationships of a small group of officers in a dug-out at St. Quentin in 1918, revealing the tensions and horrors of trench warfare.
Among the cast was a young James Freeman who is appearing in our current production of Gaslight, which opens on 7th February 2023.
