Gaslight

7th – 11th February 2023

“I knew from the first moment I saw you that you were dangerous to me”

Murder and mystery loom in the air of Patrick Hamilton’s Victorian thriller. Set in the fog-bound London of 1880, mysterious things have been happening in the Manningham household: items go missing, their dog is injured and Bella Manningham hears footsteps coming from the locked, uninhabited top floor.

As Mrs Manningham begins to doubt her own sanity, Inspector Rough appears. Is Bella really losing her grip on reality, or is there something altogether more sinister happening…?

This classic thriller will keep you on the edge of your seat as you uncover the mysteries of the Manningham
home.

First performed in London in 1938 – Gaslight was phenomenally successful. There have been two film adaptations made.

This amateur production of ‘Gaslight’ is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals Ltd on behalf of Samuel French Ltd www.concordtheatricals.co.uk
