The Game’s Afoot

6th – 10th December 2022

An hilarious, quirky and thrilling alternative to your standard holiday entertainment

Winner of the 2012 Edgar® Award for Best Playfrom The Mystery Writers of America, breath-taking mystery and high hilarity in equal parts abound throughout this production.

It is December 1936 and Broadway star William Gillette, admired the world over for his leading role in the play Sherlock Holmes, has invited his fellow cast-members to his castle retreat for a weekend of revelry. However, when one of the guests is murdered, the festivities in this isolated house of tricks and mirrors quickly turn dangerous. Gillette, who just happens to think he is Holmes, must assume the persona of his notorious stage character to track down the killer before the next victim appears.

The danger and laughter are non-stop in this glittering whodunit set during the Christmas holidays.

Ken Ludwig’s The Game’s Afoot was originally produced by Cleveland Play House; Michael Bloom, Artistic Director; Kevin Moore, Managing Director.
